Mommy + Me Healthy Oatmeal Recipes
When I got the OK from my doctor to proceed with giving Caden solids, the first thing we discussed was oatmeal. She said “you don’t need to buy baby specific oatmeal, just regular oats”. I took that and kind of ran with that. I started making oatmeal for Caden and I in the morning as a healthy way to start our day. It’s actually been pretty fun to find recipes we like and enjoy. I found some great ideas on Pinterest and then just kind of made them our own.
To start, I bought a container of organic oats. I simply mix with a bit of water in the stove for about 5 minutes. It’s simple to mix in things like bananas, berries, and cinnamon to sweetened it up. The fruits get nice and soft for baby to eat.
I then like to top with things like chai seeds, greek yogurt, peanut butter, more fruit, and honey. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT PUT HONEY ON BABY’S OATMEAL IF THEY ARE UNDER A YEAR! ONLY ADD TO YOUR BOWL AFTER MAKING. Also, if you are concerned or have questions, please consult your doctor. Again, we got the OK to proceed with solid foods.
Here’s some of my recent fave mommy + me healthy oatmeal recipes to make!
