Baby Roe Gender Reveal
From the beginning of my pregnancy, I never hoped or wished for a particular gender for Baby Roe. I think among some of my scares and fears of pregnancy I just wanted our baby to be healthy. However, from a young age I had always said I wanted a baby boy first if pregnancy was in the cards for me. Then, after my brother had his two girls, my mindset changed. Because I just love those gals. I got asked a lot if I had a “feeling” of what Baby Roe might be, to be honest I had no idea, and I had no “feelings”! I had dreams about both a girl and a boy. I really wasn’t antsy about it, I was perfectly happy knowing that our baby would be either a girl or boy. When it came down to the week of our gender reveal I was pretty calm, but excited. I had planned the party, which helped distract me from getting antsy. That was until gender reveal day came around, and I was just so beyond excited, Jacob and I both were. I was excited to find out so I could start decorating the nursery and start buying ALL THE THINGS.
We are SO EXCITED to announce that we are having a BABY BOY!

Onto Baby Roe Gender Reveal day:
Having a large family gathering always meant something to me. So, it was a no brainer when I wanted my family and friends around me on a BIG DAY like the gender reveal. Having the love, support and encouragement is what mattered most to me. Since our house is under construction, I knew I needed to host it elsewhere- that’s why I booked our community clubhouse. It ended up being so perfect. I got a couple of fun decorations (mainly for the dessert table), catered chicken tenders and subs, and tried to keep it simple but fun. TIP: Don’t overwhelm yourself-it’s not worth it.

Decor:
I had this vision of a really colorful pink and blue dessert table. So that’s what I concentrated my decor on. I wanted pink and blue desserts and decor. I had donuts, cookies, and cupcakes all decorated in pink and blue. I also had little bowls of candy that were pink and blue. I chose blueberries, strawberries, and watermelon to go on the table as well in a tiered bowl stand. Behind the colorful dessert table was a balloon arch. I LOVE balloons, I love to give them with gifts, and I love to get them too, so I HAD to have balloons. I originally cancelled my balloon arch plan because I thought it would be too much work, turns out, it wasn’t bad at all, especially with the help of Jacob. We inflated the balloons the night before and styled them the next day. I used a kit, which came with both the balloon arch supplies, a fringe backdrop, and the “Oh Baby” balloons!
Elsewhere, I had pink and blue scattered around like our plates to eat on, balloons, and even our drinks. I had pink lemonade and blue Hawaiian punch. I spruced up the drinks by adding strawberries and lemons the the pink lemonade, blueberries to the blue Hawaiian punch, and we also had water which I added all the fruit to.

Games:
It’s always super fun to have a “game” element at a party-even a gender reveal. I bought “team girl” and “team boy” stickers for our guest to wear-and it was a great conversation starter for everyone! We also had a diaper raffle. The diaper raffle was an amazing idea, I had planned one for my sister-n-law when she had her gender reveals!
So, for the diaper raffle I asked family and friends to bring diapers to be entered to win a gift basket, which my mom put together. We put their names into a bowl and at the end of the reveal we drew a winner who got to go home with a goodie basket, and I got to go home with a great start on diapers! Tip: Whether it be at your gender reveal, or baby shower, I HIGHLY suggest doing a diaper raffle!

The Reveal:
We went back and forth with so many reveal ideas. All I wanted was to not be one of those “fail” videos you often see. I went with the confetti balloon because I felt like that may have been my safest and most effective option. The balloon we used came in a kit with a set of two balloons, blue and pink packs of confetti and the tassel- it ended up being so cute and so perfect! You can shop the gender reveal balloon kit HERE. TIP: If someone else is in charge of the “reveal” have them bring along the ultrasound image that says or shows the gender! My sister delivered us the envelope with the gender inside and it was so sweet to see after we did the balloon reveal! It made it seem SO REAL!
