Weekend Recap 11.20.17

Weekend Recap:

I can’t believe the Holiday’s are here! Happy Thanksgiving week! I’ve been preparing all weekend for Thanksgiving-making my shopping list, Black Friday list, and getting my house in order before the mayhem! This will be my first year making the famous pumpkin pies for our family gathering, I’m nervous and excited! I’ve been thinking about making a “test” one in advance, just to be sure things go well. The Holiday season is such a fantastic time and I’m really looking forward to all the celebrations with my friends and family.

On Saturday I went to my very first car show. I had a blast, and now I just want a new car! After the car show, J and I grabbed lunch by the water and went on a little stroll. We had the privilege of getting to spend some time with our niece that night. She brings so much joy to our families life, and I’m so thankful to be a part of her growing life. On Sunday, we decided to do a deep clean in our house to prepare for all of the upcoming Holiday’s. After our house was clean we started getting crafty and made our pup a new doggie bowl stand! Ending the weekend with errands and football.

While we are still recovering from my Grandpa’s passing, some joy has been restored just by being surrounded with all of the love and support from friends and family. There are additional things in my life that are still not at peace, and I’m really hoping and praying that restoration will happen, and stability will be around the corner. I’m so thankful that I can trust in God, knowing he holds all of this in His hands. If you are going through a time of instability, and restlessness, put your trust in God, He will be the firm foundation and rock that your life needs. Trust that He will take care of His children.

Here are some things I’m loving:

Since I’m in charge of the pumpkin pies this year, I figured I would share the recipe that I plan on using since I know I’m not the only one that will be baking a pumpkin pie! In my fall Pinterest board, your will find that pumpkin pie recipe!

My Christmas Gift Guide is live and I broke it down into the tabs “For Him“, “For Her“, and “Under $50

Everyone needs to have a Holiday dress on hand. One that can be worn at anytime, that doesn’t require a lot of thinking, or breaking the bank. This dress is ON SALE for under $30! Snag it quickly!

Wrap Dress

Outfit Details: Lush dress, Sam Edelman mules, Cult Gaia bag

SALE ALERT! This wrap dress is under $30 and comes in several different colors/patterns-I want them all. This dress is so light, easy to style, and super flattering! You could totally style it with flats, sandals, or dress it up with heels or even wedges! Snag this dress up soon, because I already see sizes going fast! I highly recommend sizing up though, so that the wrap style doesn’t the cute outfit too short-I like to have my overlap and cover a good portion of the bottom layer.

What I Bought + What’s Still In Stock | Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Well, this is it. This is my very last post of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I know you are probably ready to stop seeing it, but I wanted to give you one last post. Today, I’m sharing what I bought from the sale and the items that are still in stock! I bought staple pieces to wear now and in the fall. All of the pricing goes back up August 7th!

Here’s What I Bought:

Socialite Choker Tee– this is a little different from my typical feminine style, but I knew I wanted a comfy tee to bring me from working at home in my office, to a coffee date, and then layer it up with a leather jacket this far. I really like the way it fits, it’s comfy, and has a bit of an edge! This trendy tee is still in stock in plenty of colors!

Steve Madden Pearl Mule – I had a tough decision to make when it came to this shoe. I wanted it so bad, but I also loved this pair with the embellished bee.  I wanted a pair of mules for fall-I knew this shoe trend wasn’t going  anywhere. Ultimately, I made my decision based on how often I would wear them and I just felt like the black velvet would be so versatile this fall. Unfortunately, both pair are sold out from the Nordstrom sale, but I did find them here for under $90!

Billabong Mi Amore Top– This top surprised me. I didn’t initially find myself drawn to it based on the online style, but when I went into the store I happen to snag it up in my size. After trying it on I just fell in love. This is a top that I can definitely wear now, but the long sleeves will make it a friendly option to take me into fall! Some sizes are in stock.

Palm Print Quilt– I did end up purchasing this quilt just a couple of days ago after weeks of thought. I’ve been looking for a tropical print to replace the one I have in my guest bedroom for a while now. I’m re-doing the room for guests, and I just couldn’t pass up this great deal.

Items Still In Stock:

Here are just a couple of items that are still in stock that I’ve had my eye on during this sale! Don’t pass up these great deals because the pricing does go back up soon!

How To Wear Linen Pants In Summer

Outfit Details: Caslon pants (on sale), Topshop top, Hat Attack bag (similar), Mango slides, Taolei earrings

This outfit was so comfortable-especially great for traveling! This past weekend I made a trip out of town with friends and we are celebrating the 4th of July at a house on a river. The pants are so comfy, and come in a variety of colors-they are also on mega sale! I thought about pairing them with a t-shirt or even a boho style blouse as well-another comfy option.
